ILLUMNTR is the soulful, psychedelic collaboration between Bryn Austin Bellomy, singer of Gramatik’s producer supergroup EXMAG, and guitarist John Russell.
ILLUMNTR is a Lowtemp recording artist. Reflecting and retransmitting the future funk and old soul of its labelmates, the ILLUMNTR waveform blends 808s, psychedelic rock, RnB, and New Age extraterrestrial revivalism into a swirling revelation of soaring, deep-space gospel music, proclaimed as if from the pulpit of some metaphysical megachurch.
What are we doing?
SOUL SISTER is the forthcoming full-length record from ILLUMNTR. It is a psychedelic concept album channeled to Bryn by his unborn twin sister through a human psychic in 2008.
SOUL SISTER is the story of three characters - the ILLUMNTR; the unborn spirit of his cosmic twin SISTER; and the BEAR, a dark and wounded soul who has evaded the ILLUMNTR and his message of wisdom through countless lifetimes.
The story begins as the ILLUMNTR enters human consciousness.
Immediately, he is aware of an absence: the soul of his twin sister -- his companion for millenia during each of his countless incarnations as a human being -- has not accompanied him down to the planet.
His cosmic memories inaccessible to him, he can feel only her absence and the faint but urgent pulse of the Bear in the distance.
